At SMILE we believe that our clients are the pilots of their lives and we are here to help guide them along the way. We see each individual and not thier diagnosis which allows us to offer a customized experience for each client. Quality individualized care is our guiding principal, and we pride ourselves on seeing each client for who they are destined to be.

Our Vision is to change the way society views and responds to mental health. We strive to be the leading provider of behavior support and mental health education to enhance the lives of individuals.

Our Mission SMILE is committed to improving the lives of youth and adults by providing quality social, emotional, behavioral and mental health services through direct therapy, educational workshops and mental health trainings. Our mission is to assist youth and their families who struggle behaviorally, socially and emotionally to become self-sufficient contributing citizens to society.

We also are on a mission to ensure mental health is infused in the workplace by providing leadership development through a social emotional lens to Managers and Executives.

Christi Venable

Christi Venable, NCC, LPC, LCPC: CEO, Founder and Lead Therapist of SMILE Therapy Services LLC. Christi was born and raised in the District of Columbia. She is the oldest of five girls and was raised in a single parent household. Christi attended The Pennsylvania State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with minors in Psychology and International Business. Christi attended George Washington University where she obtained her Masters of Education and Human Development in School Counseling. Christi is a Licensed Professional Counselor (DC, MD and VA) and has over 7 years of experience providing mental health services to youth and adults. She specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and the family unit. She has a passion for educating individuals especially minorities on the importance of maintaining a healthy mental health.

Madison Myrick

Madison Myrick, MSW, LICSW is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist with eight years of various experiences. During her career in social work, Madison has worked throughout Washington, DC, particularly in Wards 7 & 8 for nearly a decade. Focusing on major life transitions, trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, interpersonal conflicts, and military transitions, Madison works collaboratively with individuals to heal old wounds and alter their perspective into positive thinking patterns. Madison also specializes in supervision and consultation. Her therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and solution - focused therapy. She is passionate about helping individuals reach their fullest potential and committed to making their therapeutic experience holistic, productive, and positive.

Elizabeth Kim

Elizabeth Kim, ATR-BC, LPC: is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered, Board Certified Art Therapist and  CYT Certified Yoga Instructor. Elizabeth went to George Washington University and received her Master’s degree in Art Therapy.  Elizabeth has interned with various populations included Children with Cancer at Children’s Hospital and older adults with Alzheimer’s at Greenspring Erickson Retirement community and on the inpatient psychiatric unit at George Washington University Hospital. Elizabeth integrates art therapy, counseling, and yoga into her sessions.  Elizabeth received her Teacher Yoga certification from Breathe for Change and has completed a mindfulness certification and continues to utilize that in her professional and personal life.

Mr. O. Chappelle Marshall

Mr. O. Chappelle Marshall, MSW, LGSW: has worked in the mental health field since 2009, where he quickly discovered a profound passion for the profession, and a keen ability to advocate for families and individuals.  He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Eastern shore, and after completing his undergraduate degree he later went on to work as a community school liaison, and a community support worker.  Mr. Marshall utilizes a person-centered approach, believing that transparency and building healthy therapeutic relationships is the foundation of helping clients understand the depths of their own resilience.

Robbyn Tyree Shin

Robbyn Tyree Shin, MA, MBA, LPC: is a Washington D.C native. Robbyn earned her master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University ofCincinnati and my MBA from Columbia Southern University. Robbyn’s clinical experience of over 15 years includes providing individual, family and group therapy for depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, and adjustment disorders. Robbyn has also worked extensively with military families with issues from reintegration, child & youth behavioral concerns, coping, stress, communication and transitioning due to continued deployments orpermanent change of station moves.

Courtney Simpson

Courtney Simpson, LGPC: is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor, a wife, a daughter, sister, friend, and DMV native. Courtney’s counseling journey lead her from working at crisis centers in Maryland, while assisting high risk adult populations dealing with moderate/ severe mental health concerns, homelessness, abuse/ trauma, substance abuse and medication management to working with DCPCS schools as both counselor and engagement specialist to offer additional support to help prevent at-risk youth from retention and dropout. 

Community Based Therapists:  SMILE Therapy Services LLC works with youth and adults on a wide range of mental health issues. Our therapists are licensed and credentialed with over 15 years of experience providing individual and family counseling. Our goal is to help our clients find their peace within.

School Based Therapists:  Currently, SMILE is connected to over 15 schools in the Washington, DC area. Our therapists are committed to improving the lives and mental health of the youth and families through providing pre-intervention and intervention services along with mental health workshops and trainings for students and their family unit.
